Mia Garcia, born in Austin, Texas, is the older of two sisters, born into a musical family.
Her mother, Yuliana Serrano Garcia, is a singer. Mia’s father, Christopher Garcia, is a drummer, and is the executive producer for all of Mia’s music, producer of her music videos, and manages her branding, including graphic design and public relations. They have encouraged her to take the stage since she was five and performs in and around Austin TX.
Mia is motivated and energetic, so singing is the perfect outlet for her. She is often found performing at concerts and festivals in and around central Texas.
Her ambitions are clear: to lead by example and encourage other kids to dream big and succeed.
She loves cumbia and pop music best of all, and spends much of her spare time singing and playing guitar. Since she began performing in December 2015, Mia has become an international artist singing in cities across Texas and toured in Tamaulipas and Veracruz, Mexico.
Aside from being a budding entertainer, Mia’s education is important and is on the “Straight A” honor roll at her middle school. She also participates in karate, swimming, gymnastics, and has won many competitions including becoming a state trampoline champion in 2018. Mia also enjoys horseback riding during the summer.
As of eight years of age, her first recorded single and music video is a cover of the Nicky Jam/Enrique Iglesias song “El Perdon.” This video currently has over 366,033 views on YouTube and has gained Internet and terrestrial radio airplay. Mias YouTube channel currently has 1,285,533 million views.
Her latest achievement was being nominated and ultimately winning a Tejano Music Award for “Best New Artist – Female.” It was presented to her on March 16th, 2019 at the TTMA Fan Fair at Market Square. This has also garnered her international attention from networks such as Univision and Telemundo.
Mia received a proclamation of “Mia Garcia Day” in Austin, TX on October 5th, 2017 along with being recognized by the governor of Texas and First Lady. Mia also was honored with the Texas State flag flown over the State Capitol on June 6th, 2019 along with a proclamation from the Senate of the State of Texas and Senator Kirk Watson.
